What Is The Honda Accord Lug Pattern

Starting from Gen VII in 2003, all Honda Accords featured a 5×114.3 mm or 5×4.5 inches bolt pattern (5 lug nuts with 114.3 mm spacing). The first six generations have a 4-lug pattern: 4 x 120 for Gen I; 4 x 100 for Gen II and II; and 4 x 114.3 for Gen IV to VI.

Why Did Honda Accord Change From 4-Lug to 5-Lug Wheels?

5-lug patterns have lots of competitive edges over their 4-lug counterparts: great pressure withstanding, high load capacity, and much better stability even when the lugs are loose. As such, Honda decided to change the wheel lug patterns for all their Honda Accord models.

Can I Change My Honda Accord’s 4-Lug Pattern to 5-Lug?

Yes, you can buy adapters for the task – though whether this change would last long is still debatable. After all, the adapters are just “plates” put over the 4 lugs to turn them into 5-lug; imagine if the wheel and adapter fly off your car during a trip!

Is Honda Accord Pattern The Same As Other Honda Models?

Not all. While certain similarities are shared, people can still spot a wide selection of Honda lines with differing bolt patterns from their Accord siblings. Cases in point are Honda Pilot and Odyssey (5×120) and Honda Passport (6×139.7).

Conclusion

The lug pattern for Honda Accord has been changed from 4-lug to 5-lug since 2003 for better adaptability, load capacities, and stability.

Changing your bolt circle measurement from 4-lug to 5-lug is not impossible, but remember to tread with caution around aftermarket wheels and adapters!  Contact me if you need help on your tire assembly.
