Wheel retorque is a part of your Chevy maintenance schedule. Feel free to do it at home to save some bucks without any difficulty. On the downside, you need a wheel wrench and, most importantly, an understanding of the Cruze bolt pattern in the final step – re-attaching the wheel to the vehicle to stay safe. If you are not familiar with this, scroll down to learn.

Bolt Pattern For Chevy Cruze

Most modern Chevy models from 2009 come with a 5×105 mm (or 5×4.134 in) bolt pattern. This means 5 lug holes and an imaginary circle with a diameter of 105mm. However, previous models and those with diesel engines have different designs.

5x4.134 lug bolt pattern

The first cars born in Japan from 2001 to 2008, also known as CH versions, came out with a 4×100 mm or 4×3.94 inches lug pattern. That said, each wheel has 4 holes forming a 100 mm circle.

However, since 2009, the manufacturer has unified the wheel lugs to 5×105 mm for petrol engines and 5×115 for diesel ones. This setting has been maintained today through two main generations and some special editions.

Wheel Standard Of Chevy Cruze: Factory Specifications

Though the bolt pattern has not changed much from year to year, Chevy wheels come to market in different specifications, including center bore, tire, rim dimensions, torque spec, etc. Check this section to decide on the best options for bolt fitment.

Note: Our information below focuses mainly on USDM and EUDM (products for US and UK markets) and the CH edition in Japan in the early years.

Tightening Chevy Cruze Bolts

Tightening 5 bolt pattern

As you have seen above, modern Chevys all have 5 lug holes, although the diameters vary between the two types of engines. However, retightening the stud nuts in both cases follows the same sequence – a star-shaped pattern. It would help to approach the lugs in a cross-shaped order, except for early models. It is best to refer to the user manual for detailed illustrations.

Then all you need is a wheel wrench for the job. Approach the wheel bolts in the specified order and twist them to the defined torque specification (check the tables above for the precise torque spec).

From our experience, you should do a half-turn on all parts first and then repeat the round with the same force as the recommended standard. Have a test run and retorque if necessary.

FAQs

What Cars Have A Lug Pattern Of 5×105?

Though the 5×105 bolt pattern is not common, you can still find it in some popular product lines, such as Chevrolet Aveo, Chevrolet Aveo, Chevrolet Aveo, Saturn Aura, etc.

What Uses A 5 On 4.52 Bolt Pattern?

5×4.2 inches or 5×115 is common on Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep models. Product lines born with this bolt design include the Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Durango, Chrysler 300, Chrysler Pacifica, Jeep Chrysler, and Jeep Wrangler.

Conclusion

Chevy Cruze wheel bolt pattern comes in handy when you perform a tire assembly process. It would be best to learn in advance to mount wheels to your vehicle securely and safely. Then check again after 50 miles and retighten if necessary. You should also repeat this process before every long trip to be safe.
